Rave Friends, and Youtube Success

Yesterday was pretty good. I got back into the flow and was able to get some filming done, I think I got a lot more cinematic shots this time around, but I guess I'll know more once I start the edit. Yesterday, we did the rave, going into it I wasn't very excited, but It was really nice to see all my rave friends again. I guess you don't realize how much you miss them until it's been a long time since you saw them. There were a few friends who stood out yesterday though.

Justin mentioned he saw the woodworking was going good, it was nice to know he has been paying attention to my life. Jess made a joke that I'm a famous YouTuber now. Even though a joke, it's nice she acknowledged my recent success, at least I think. But who definitely acknowledged them was Sonny. He said to me, "You're doing really good on YouTube, I have some questions actually". Now what made this different was I knew Sonny knew how hard YouTube can be, so getting an average of 300-1000 views a video is a big feat. He's the type of guy who would understand that in general, but especially because he runs a podcast which he also shares on YouTube. I assume he wanted some advice for his own channel, which I am so down to give, but unfortunately, we didn't get the time to do it last night.

I think having people who understand YouTube success in your journey of growing a channel is great. They see 3K views and can understand how much that actually means compared to 3K views on, say, a TikTok video. I wonder if that's why there's such a disconnect from people understanding what success on YouTube looks like. Any old 10-second video can gain 3K views if it's semi-interesting, but on YouTube, there's more thought and skill that goes into it.

Also, we got home and in bed around 3 am yesterday, but I still got up at 6 am lol. I feel fine though. I want to get a lot of this epoxy table done today, so that's my main goal. I'll also probably do some more filming for my 3D printing shop organizing video too. I need to take some time to really plan what I need to print for that. Lately, I am just printing things I know I needed but there are a few things I need to review, which I've put off. Maybe I'll plan that today too. Especially because I'm running out of the "I know I need" prints.
